At ProHealth Chiropractic we use state of the art diagnostic scans in order to help us determine how your body is functioning and performing. These scans were developed by NASA and the Space Institute.
Our purpose for administering these tests is to detect and pinpoint abnormal function in the spine which cannot be seen on an x-ray. Abnormal spinal function causes nerve disturbances.
Why is it important to monitor the results?
We want the best results for our patients in the least amount of time. Through periodic exams, we can easily monitor your changes and therefore keep adapting your treatment plan to suit your body's needs. Your body can be malfunctioning for months or even years before you experience any symptoms which are strong enough to alarm you to seek treatment. Since symptoms are always the last to show and the first to go, it is important to regularly monitor the function of your spine and nervous system and receive regular treatments to help ensure a properly functioning and healthy body.
It has been proven that a very slight amount of pressure – even the weight of a dime -can disturb communication of the nervous system whether or not symptoms are present. If pressure the weight of a dime can cause problems, just imagine what stress your spine and nervous system is under during those times when you feel like you have a load of bricks on your back and the weight of the world on our shoulders.
How will these tests benefit me?
For years, a major concern of chiropractic patients has been "Why do I have to keep coming back when I'm pain-free?" or "How do I know I'm getting the proper amount of adjustment?" With the Insightâ„¢ Millennium tests, you are now able to actually see the effects of the changes you are undergoing during your chiropractic treatments. Because of this technology, you are able to understand why you need the type and frequency of care you are receiving. These scans give you the confidence to stick with your chiropractic treatment plan because you know that your treatment plan truly has been made to suit your specific needs.
Why do I have to have multiple scans?
The initial scans are a benchmark from which to analyze subluxation patterns and initiate care. Your injury recovery or wellness program is based upon watchful and progressive care. As the spine and nervous system are adjusted, the older ‘stuck' patterns begin to release. This release of old patterns and restoration to a more well state can be measured with repeated scans.
One of the great features of this computerized technology is its simplicity of application and non-invasive nature. Ongoing care at ProHealth Chiropractic is based upon series of 12 to 14 adjustments. Each series begins and ends with an evaluation. In this way, the changes in the neural and skeletal tone can be documented and assessed. The path towards recovery and wellness implies that your body is able to change and to adapt in a more normal fashion. On each set of scans, Dr. Robinson is viewing the amplitude and symmetry of your affected areas. The most important interpretation aspect is to note which patterns are NOT changing. This would imply a deeply set pattern of dysfunction that may need extra time and attention to break the cycle.
